              The Value Of A Soul

Submit yourselves, therefore, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

Pastor's Desk

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7)

It's interesting that God identifies us as a “living soul” as opposed to a living human beings. Our human existence is in flesh and blood, whereas our true identity is our living soul on the inside.

Our soul distinguishes us from all other life forms in that, we were created in the image and likeness of God our creator, and our soul, being our spiritual identity, will live on forever long after the flesh returns to the dust it was created from.

“...For dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return”. (Genesis 3:19)

God is the “ Everlasting To Everlasting” of all eternity. He is the Beginning of Beginnings of all thing is seen and unseen. He is the Truth, Master of all Wisdom, Knowledge, and Understanding. He is the only “I AM that I AM” of the universe and beyond. He is the Universal Authority, that even existence itself must obey. He is the Eternal Love that reaches beyond the heavens to save someone who's lost their way. And He is our Righteous Father who is seated on the Mercy Seat.

You see folks, when God looks at you He sees the Living Soul He created in Love, and as the only reason Jesus went to the Cross, and gave His life in exchange for yours, and then rose again victoriously to forever mark the value and worth of your soul. He sees through what we've done with our lives because of sin, and desires fellowship, and to comfort the soul He created for Himself.

But somewhere along the way Satan has convinced us that God really doesn't care and is not interested in being active in our lives; or that He doesn't really desire to be proactive in our human lives. We have been deceived into thinking that human life is not important, expendable if you will.
And sadly this is evident in how we treat each other, and how we value human life. And the proof of this is the abortion rates worldwide.

According to the World Health Organization, “Every year in the world there are an estimated 40-50 million abortions. This corresponds to approximately 125,000 abortions per day”. (Abortion Statistics- Worldometers

Think about that for a moment Church; 1.44 babies are murdered every second of every minute of every hour of every single day. That's 125,000 babies lose their lives to parents that never considers the value or the worth of the human soul.

Human life has lost it's value and is no longer viewed as significant, and even is less important then that of an animal. It seems that we no longer desire God to be involved in our lives and in our society anymore. Preachers are afraid to preach this truth in our churches and from the pulpit in fear of losing their congregation (and tithes). Tragically “In God we no longer trust”. Even so come Lord Jesus. Rescue your people who are looking for your return.

Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. (Ezekiel 18:4)

We have become a people that just don't care enough anymore beyond our own self. We don't even care, much less consider the eternal souls of others beyond our own view point. We've become self seekers, looking out for ourselves and our own. And when the soul of a man becomes irrelevant and unimportant, then we are in danger of the judgment of God. And His judgments are Righteous!!

But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned; in his trespass that he hath sinned, in them shall he die (Ezekiel 18:24).

He alone judges the heart, and the intentions and thoughts of the heart. He alone sees the motives behind, and beyond, all our deeds. And He alone has the authority to judge the hearts of His people.

“For as the Father hath life in Himself, so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself. And hath given Him all authority, to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. Marvel not at this; for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice, And shall come forth: they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of the damnation“. (John 5: 26-29)

And I am talking about the Church, people who say they know and love God. I've heard it said that “actions speak louder then words”. Their works will tell you one thing, while their hearts will tell God another. They'll say things like, “God sure did showed up this morning”, or, “God was (is) in the house today”; All the while never considering the fact that the presents of a Righteous God is present all the while they have their parties, pot lucks dinners, and celebrate “Halloween” in the house of God, and in the Sanctuary.

They'll dress in clothing that are not appropriate or becoming people of God. I truly do understand the privilege of the liberty in Christ, but sense when is it okay to justify our liberty in an unholy manner. We are to avoid even the appearance of evil, not celebrate it.

I'm not against breaking bread, or sharing a meal after service. I think it's good thing when the brethren come together in the bonds of unity and friendship. That should be a time of fellowship, to share the Word of God and His Blessings and Mercies and to encourage one another in the Faith. It is a time to incite enthusiasm, to share the Word of God and to foster Hope and strength to take the Word of God into the world which we live in. Our society so desperately needs strong people of Faith.

God hears the conversations of His people when gathered together in His Name. God blesses us with His Glory when we share His Blessings with each other. God blesses a people who blesses others.

But here's the thing; in doing so, if our intentions and motivations are anything other then to bring Honor and Respect to our Heavenly Father, then we dishonor His Glory. And if we disrespect His Glory and refuse lift up the Precious Name of Jesus, the Christ, then the very stones themselves will cry out His Praises.

But sadly that isn't always the case. I have personally seen brethren hurting other brethren. I have seen ought and unforgivness within the body of Christ. I have seen dishonesty in the house of God. And sadly I have seen adulterous relationships develop within the church body that had end tragically for others. And I am sure that there were many more abominations in the house of God that only God Himself sees.

“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better themselves.
Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:3-5).

It's all about the eternal “living soul of man” that God has created for Himself from the beginning.
But Satan, the great deceiver, brought sin into the world via Adam and Eve, thus the beginning of hatred one for another, and for God's creation, ”The Living Soul”. And the main reason Satan hates you so much is because he eternally hates God, and that you were created by God in “His Image”.

So don't take it personal when Satan attacks you, (and he will). He has made it his purpose to take you away from God by convincing you that you don't need God, that all is well without Him when it's not.

And sense it's not God's desire that any should die in their sins to be eternally seperated from His Righteousness, then it IS Satan's mission to do just the opposite; to keep you thinking you have no sin, to keep you lusting after your own pleasure, and to live in doubt and fear of the future.

Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary, the devil, like a roaring lion walketh about, seeking whom he may devour; (1Peter 5:)

But the God of Glory sent His Son into the world to shed His Precious Blood on our behalf. The Cross on Calvary was to stake claim for your “eternal soul”, that we don't have to live in bondage and fear anymore, that we were made free to be with Him, in the presents of a Holy and Righteous Father for all eternity.

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2Peter 3:9)

In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. (Job 12:10)

We so desperately need God back in our lives, and in our Churches, and in our society, and in our governments, and in our schools. We so desperately need Godly men and women filled with the Holy Spirit in our judicial system.

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us who are saves it is the power of God.
For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
where is the wise? Where is the scribes? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

For after that, in the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. (1Corinthians 1: 18-21)

One day the world will wake up to discover hundreds of millions of graves were opened and empty, and be faced with the reality that billions of living souls around the world that feared the Lord our God are gone as well, who's hope and strength was in Him that judges the intentions of the heart.

Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.
For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee. (Psalms 33:18- 22)

“Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; ...” (1Chronicles 22: 19)

The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. (Psalms 34:22)
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. (Isaiah 1:18)

Life is short, and eternity awaits. Please pray this prayer right now;

Lord Jesus, I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of the Living God,
and I ask you to forgive me of my sins.
I receive you into my heart and to be my personal Lord and Savior,
I believe that you shed your precious blood and died on the Cross for me.
I believe that you rose from the grave and are alive today so,
that I could forever be alive with you.
I will denounce all that is evil and follow that which is Holy
for all the remaining days of my life.
Thank You Righteous Father for your eternal Grace and forgiveness
I ask you to fill me with your Holy Spirit, to guide me, and teach me how to live for you.
I believe right now that my sins are forgiven, and I am no longer the same.
I believe I am a new creation, and will forever proclaim that Heaven is my home.
Thank You, for I am eternally grateful.
