Understanding Forgiveness

Submit yourselves, therefore, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

What a beautiful experience forgiveness can bring to a hurting heart. It refreshes the soul and mind and brings peace to our life. Forgiveness reunites the forgiven with the forgiver; We are the forgiven and God is the forgiver.

But what happens when you're the one offended? Or if you've offend someone else? Then in this, and in all circumstances, you are first responsible to God for your response to the offense, or your intent to offend . You will either be the forgiver or the forgiven. But either way we are to be as Christ. “Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do”.

Anyone can give lip service, but only God knows the hearts intent.
Being a Christian means more then just being a believer. After all even the devil believes, and yet trembles. Being a Christian actually means to be “Conformed to the image of God's Son...” and become “Christlike”.

I believe that one of God’s greatest expectations from His people is to forgive others as He has forgiven us. Our fellowship with God, our Creator, depends on how we interact with the very people Jesus gave His life for as well. No cutting corners when someone's eternity is at stake.

Give us this day our daily bred. And forgive us our debts (sins) as we forgive our debtors (sinned against us). For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (Matthew 6: 11,12 &14,15)

There you have it folks, the most taken for granted and over looked expectation from God. Forgive me as I forgive others, Forgive me not if I don't forgive others.

Realize this Church: that not only is God Holy and Righteous, He is also Just in Judgment. God doesn't play games, nor has any favorites, when it comes to unforgiveness.

The consequences for unforgiveness is measured to us by what measure we use to forgive others. Plain and simple. Think about it for a moment folks. Do you feel like God isn't answering your prayers? Then maybe you should seek the conviction of the Holy Spirit as to any unforgiveness you might still have.

Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven; and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven.

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged; condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned; forgive, and ye shall be forgiven; (Luke 6: 37)

Now here's the thing church, true forgiveness can only be possible if you desire to understand God's forgiveness, and the depth of His love for the world.
We didn't die for the sins of the world, Jesus did! We didn't rise on the third day victorious over death and the grave, Jesus did! And on that Glorious day, when the trumpet sounds, and when “time itself divides”, it will be the King of kings and Lord of lords, that will pass through. Hallelujah, Thank You Jesus!!

And He is the forgiving power that lives in the hearts of every person who seeks forgiveness from God, to Love others with His Love, and forgive others with His forgiveness.

When we place our trust in God, and desire the Holy Spirit to teach us how to walk by Faith, and to live a life that brings Honor and Glory to our Heavenly Father, then forgiveness will become your heart's intent, while we are being conformed into the image of God's Son, our Lord Jesus.

There are many battles that we face every single day. And at the end of each battle will be either defeat, or victory. But God is able to deliver, and will be your victory in every one of them if we Trust Him.

“You'll Never Know How Strong Your Armor is, Until You Trust God In Battle”.

Question is, How much do you Trust God? No really, ask yourself. If it's less then “completely”, then we will probably have to go around the mountain one more time. Because
“Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it ” (1Thessalonians 5:24).

God expects us to forgive, but commands us to love, Him first above all, then our neighbor, and then ourselves. Ourselves? Yes people yourselves. Just as important.
Then you'll understand what it means to forgive your brother.

And above all things have fervent love among yourselves; for love shall cover the multitude of sins. (1Peter 4:8)

Hatred stirreth up strifes, but love covereth all sins. (Proverbs 10:12)

The reality is God our Creator, with His infinite Wisdom and Foreknowledge, knew every thought you would ever think, and the choices you would ever make, and knew that one day you would choose to follow Him , so that before the foundation of the world, God has called you “out of the world”, and conforming you into the image of His Son, Jesus, who is with, and of, the Father. So then, the process is this, love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Because of the Greatness of God’s Love, Jesus willingly took the pain of rejection and humiliation by His own people, the torturous beatings by the Roman soldiers, the mocking and spitting in His face, by a crowd who once proclaimed Him blessed, suffered a long and painful death, crucifixion on the Cross, shedding every drop of His Precious blood, so that the whole world could receive the forgiveness of sins, and that we could understand what it means to forgive others.

The price of true forgiveness will cost you your pride, and the right to be hurt.
After all, Jesus Himself said “Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do”.
You cannot have fellowship with the Father unless you understand what it means to forgive.
But people sometimes like to put conditions or stipulations on forgiveness. But true forgiveness is unconditional. Proof of that is Jesus!
There can be no reconciliation without complete forgiveness.
And it seems that some of us are having a problem with the forgive and forget theory.
I mean, watch little children play sometime; and suddenly they get angry with each other, then just that quick they are friends again, forgetting what they were ever angry about.

And they brought young children to him, that He should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them,
“Permit the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein”.
How is it that we must be as little children to enter the kingdom? Good Question. And the answer is simple;
(Mark 10: 13-15)

Because children are innocent at heart, and trust completely. They are quick to forgive and they will love unconditionally. God Bless And Save Our Children!

Jesus told Nicodemus
“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God”. (John 3:3)

That means to be reborn in the spirit. We were born with a rebellious and sinful nature.

But only our Lord Jesus has the power to change our hearts and make all things new again, by the sacrifice He alone made for the sins of the world.
You see, Love will always be greater then hatred; Forgiveness, with Love, will always be greater then unforgiveness with resentment; And compassion will always be more powerful then revenge. So what is in YOUR heart church?

We know where the world stands on the subject. It's evident by their hate for righteousness. They have abandoned that which is Holy, in exchange for their lust for immorality and sin.
What will it take folks for you to love God more than any trespass against you?

When will you realize that Love is more powerful then any reason to stay angry. What will have to happen before you truly surrender to God once and for all?
What will be in your heart when your life is over? Will it be Forgiveness and Compassion, or Unforgiveness and Revenge? Choose you this day what it will be.

He hath shown thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to Love Mercy and to walk humbly with thy God? (Micah 6:8)

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
(Jeremiah 29: 11-13)

As for God, His way is perfect; the Word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all those who trust in Him.For who is God, save the Lord? Or who is a rock, save our God? (Psalms 18: 30-31)

Thank You Righteous Father for your Grace and Mercy. Thank You Jesus for giving your life for the wages of my sins, and for all that you’ve done for me. Thank You Holy Spirit for your understandings, and teaching me what it means to forgive and how to walk by Faith.

Life is short, and eternity awaits. Please pray this prayer right now;
