Faith That Conquers Fear

Pastor's Desk

He is the Alpha and Omega, Great and Wonderful Creator, Immutable, Righteous, Holy and Glorious Father, the I AM that I AM, the Righteous and Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace, Eternal Immanuel, Yahweh, Jehovah, El Shaddai, Yeshua, and “The Christ. These are only a small fraction of the names that are attributed to God, and in reference to His eternal and spectacular Glory and universal authority.
God's Power and Glory are on display everyday in, and through, the Heavens, and in all the universe. Every galaxies, every star, and every formation of every cloud reflects God's Awesome Wonders.

God reveals His Wondrous Wisdom in the conception and birth of every child, the unconditional love and complete dependency of each new life.
Nature itself declares Knowledge to the depth of God's great Love and in the power of His forgiveness of sin, and in His undeniable Glory in every changed life.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me(Psalms 51:10).

God's immutable Love and Mercy is in the image of our Lord Jesus Christ, His Precious Blood shed for us on Calvary for the redemption of the souls of all man kind, in His Glorious resurrection, and in His promise to one day return to receive His faithful. His promise and Understanding with the coming of the Holy Spirit. And bringing with Him all power from Heaven to teach us to live pleasing to God.

Our faith lays solely in these facts; To believe that HE IS, and to worship Him in spirit and in truth. His rewards are in the Wisdom, Knowledge, and Understanding of His Glorious Person, Righteousness and Holiness found only in His presence, for those who diligently seeks Him with all their heart. To love God is a joy beyond description. The Understanding of the Lord is in the fact that there is no fear in the strength of Gods Truth. And this my friends is the faith that pleases God.

And ye shall know the Truth, and the truth shall make you free(John 8:32).

Free from what? Freedom from the bondages that keep you from having a complete and everlasting relationship with Jesus Christ as your intimate Lord and Savior.
You see folks, all doubts and fears are due to the lack of commitment to the TRUTH. And what is the Truth? The Bible tells us that Jesus IS the Truth.

Jesus saith unto him (Thomas), “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me(John 14:6).
It is in your undeterred commitment to the Truth that you will find the faith that can move mountains. Jesus said so Himself,
faith as a mustard seed(Matthew 17:20).

Faith is the unquestionable obedience to the Truth of the Word of God.
Faith is completely trusting in Gods abilities.
Faith is your determination to do the right things, because it's the right thing to do.
Faith is your undeniable and unwavering confidence in the depth of Gods Love.
Faith is your assurance that God has redeemed you by the Blood of Jesus Christ.
Faith is in the indisputable universal power and ability of God to accomplish the work He has begun in you, and given His Holy Spirit to accomplish His Will for your life.
Faith is believing that God Love You and wants to be our friend.

Simply put, the strength of your faith depends on how strong your love is for our Lord Jesus Christ. Do you love Him today? I mean do you really love our Lord so much that He is your complete existence, woven in the very fabric of your life?

Don't think it's possible? Then consider this; Peter, after seeing Jesus coming to them walking on the water, ask Jesus to bid him to come to him on the water. Jesus said come. Peter climbs out of the boat and starts walking on the water to Jesus. But because of the storm, he took his eye's off of Jesus and began to sink. The Bible says that Jesus stretched forth His hand and caught Peter, and lifted him up and said "O thou of little faith, why didst thou doubt" (Matthew 14:25-31).
It's interesting to point out though that Peter had to walk back to the boat. Just a thought.

Our Churches today must return to the uncompromising truth of the Word of God. And that faith is a journey that will always lead you to the most Glorious and Intimate Knowledge of Gods Will, a greater Understanding of the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ to forgive us of our sins that separates us from fellowship with God, and having confidence in knowing that God is Holy and Merciful, full of Love, Grace, and Compassion, and being persuaded by the Truth of His Word.

Jesus said “
Because of your unbelief; For verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove from here to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you(Matthew 17:20).

God hath dealt to every man a measure of faith(Romans 12:3).

I ask you now; what have you done with your measure of faith? On what type of soil have you planted your seed of faith? Is it good soil or worthless dirt?
Jesus said “
You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so, every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit
(Matthew 7: 16,17).

You see, the soil you choose to plant your crops will determine the quality of the fruit that it bears. What kind of fruit are you bearing today?
Are you anxious? Are you afraid or live in fear? Are you unsure of what tomorrow will bring?
Let's face it Church, it's high tide, and the time is now, to plant your God given measure of faith in fertile ground that will yield the healthiest spiritual crop. And that is the faith that is grounded in the Word of God, and the truth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

No other way to conquer your fears folks. NONE, ZILTCH, NOTTA
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.  (1 Corinthians 2:5)
Watch, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. Let all your things be done with Love(1 Corinthians 16:13,14).

Examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith; prove yourselves. Know ye not ourselves how Jesus Christ is in you, unless you are discredited? (2 Corinthians 13:5)

The truth of the matter is that it's up to you where you plant your measure of faith and what type of fruit you want to yield. No one can make those choices for you. The devil will try (like in the Garden of Eden).
But God will always honor the choice He has given you. But it's what you do with your faith that will honor God.

For God so Loved you, because scripture tells us that “God Is Love”.
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
And we have known and believed the Love that God hath to us. God is Love, and he that dwelleth in Love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, so are we in this world.
There is no fear in Love, but perfect Love casteth out fear, because fear hath torment (punishment). He that feareth is not made perfect
(1John 4:15-18).

The divine Truth is in your faith in the Truth, because Jesus IS the Truth. And because God is Love, then the answer becomes very clear in that, it's in your unwavering Love for God that will conquer all fear.

There is no fear in Love, but perfect Love casteth out fear, because fear hath torment(1John 4:18).

So why do a large number of Christians still experience fear, anxiety when they claim to love God? I love God, so why am I still consumed with doubts or uncertainty?

Every great man and woman of the Bible had their season of uncertainty. Even the Prophet Elijah, though he called down fire from Heaven to consume twelve stones submerged in twelve barrels of water, fled in fear for his life from Jezebel who wanted to kill him
(1Kings 17:1, 1Kings 18, 1Kings 19).
What made Elijah a mighty man of God was his faith and trust in God, and that God WILL perform His Word. His faith conquered his fears.

Then there was a mighty woman called Esther, who was a Jewish maiden and raised by Mor'decai after the death of her mother and father
(Ester2:7). God called her to deliver her people Israel (who were held captive in Persia at the time) from massacre by King Ahasuerur by becoming his wife, thus, Queen Esther. Her love for God, and for her people, was greater than her fear of losing her own life (Esther 5:1-7, Esther 7:1-10).
It was Queen Esther's Love for God that was greater than her fears, that she was able to walk in the faith that conquered her fear.

Now we come to Mary, the Blessed mother of our Lord Jesus. Who, while espoused to Joseph, was visited by the angel Gabriel to announce the virgin birth of Jesus.

And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS
(Luke 1:28-31).

Mary knew what the law was. She knew what Joseph could have done by law. She knew the humiliation and embarrassment her family would endure if it was discovered she was with child. But she was still confused.
Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered, and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the Power of the Highest shall overshadow thee; therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy words. (Luke 1:34,35,38)
I think Mary exhibited the greatest of all faith when she surrendered her fear and will to the Will of God. And I think acknowledgment is in order concerning the faith of Joseph as well. Scripture tell us that before Mary and Joseph came together, Mary was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

Then Joseph, her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make he a public example, was minded to put her away privately. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary, thy wife; for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 1:19-21)

Then there was Simon Peter. Another mighty man of God, proclaiming that “thou art the Christ", courageous enough to defend Jesus when the soldiers came for the Lord in Gethsemane, cutting off the ear of Mal'chus, then ran in fear when the soldiers tried to arrest him.
(John 18:4-10).

What made Simon Peter a mighty man of God was the fact that, though he denied Jesus three times, the power of the Truth was so ingrained in his heart, that his strength by faith made him courageous. Through faith he conquered his fear in the face of death.
You see, faith isn't who you think God is, but rather true faith is in the depth of your trust in God, believing that “He Is”. Confidence in Him is how you surrendered your life to Him through faith. That is called “the faith that pleases God”.

Most of us will probably never face those kinds of situations. Our very lives may never be in jeopardy because of our faith. But the facts still remains that God, who is Mighty to save, will always be the reason for our victories over fear through faith.

Today we live in a society full of many uncertainties. Fear has taken a strong hold on our Churches. We have been consumed by the media with pain, suffering and death all over the world. Evil seems to have taken over our governments, cities and towns. People are afraid of riots, continuous wars, terrorism, natural disasters to name a few. We've become afraid to look at each other in fear of retaliation of some sort.

We've become a skeptical and unbelieving society, willing to do things we thought we would never do in the name of self preservation.
But fear not, there is Hope. There has always been Hope, we're just looking in the wrong places.

Jesus said I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen (Matthew 28:20).

Our Great and Wonderful Creator, Immutable and Righteous Father, God who knows entirely the thoughts of the heart of all mankind, has always protected and defended a chosen remnant from His people. A chosen remnant are those He knew, before the beginning of time, would choose to surrender their existence to the one True Living God, Sovereign and Holy, in spite of the growing opposition to Christianity and their personal commitment to Jesus Christ.

But as many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons (children) of God, even to them that believe on His Name(John 1:12);

Not everyone is committed to faith and obedience to God. There have always been wolves in sheep's clothing, since Cain killed Abel. And the devil, like a hungry lion, roams the earth seeking those whom he may devour.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His Might.
Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil
.(wiles= Trickery, Guile intended to deceive)

For we wrestle nor against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers (the world) of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore, take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand
(Ephesians 6:10-13).

But guard your hearts. Put on the breastplate of righteousness. Be strong in the Truth, and be filled with the Holy Spirit. In all things seek Wisdom and Understanding, that you may be able to recognize the signs of the times when Jesus our Savior, will return in all Power and Glory as promised. “...
Be filled with knowledge of God's Will in all Wisdom and spiritual Understanding”. (Colossians 1:9)

And I saw Heaven opened and, behold, a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful
and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself.
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood; and His Name is called The Word of God. And He had on His vesture and on His thigh a name written,
(Revelation 19: 1-13, 16).

KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

And in that day man will not be without excuse. He will not only blame God, but he'll blame the church as well for his demise.
He will say “I didn't know, no one told me”. But they did know, but chose to ignore the Word of God. They chose not to believe on Him as Creator, Lord and Savior.

But beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
How they told you there should be mockers in the last time (days), who should walk after their own ungodly lust.
These are they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit,
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
Keeping yourselves in the Love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life
(Jude 17-20).

When you sincerely, and willfully, give yourself over to the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and apply the Truth taught to you by the Holy Spirit in every aspect of your life, When Jesus Christ, once and for all, becomes the reason for your being and consumes your entire existence, When you can't live one single day without yearning to be with Him and in His presence, When you finally learn how to walk by faith and not by sight, then you will have no reason to fear the things of this world. Because through your faith that,

“...If God be for you who can be against you”, will be the faith that conquers all fear.

And that, my friends, is what the Bible means by “But without faith it is impossible to please Him; for he that cometh to God must believe that HE IS, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
(Hebrews 11:6)

If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; (Colossians 1:23)

 Life is short, and eternity awaits. Please pray this prayer right now;

and I ask you to forgive me of my sins.
I receive you into my heart and to be my personal Lord and Savior,
I believe that you shed your precious blood and died on the Cross for me.
I believe that you rose from the grave and are alive today so,
that I could forever be alive with you.
I will denounce all that is evil and follow that which is Holy
for all the remaining days of my life.
Thank You Righteous Father for your eternal Grace and forgiveness
I ask you to fill me with your Holy Spirit, to guide me, and teach me how to live for you.
I believe right now that my sins are forgiven, and I am no longer the same.
I believe I am a new creation, and will forever proclaim that Heaven is my home.
Thank You, for I am eternally grateful.
In Jesus' Holy Name I pray. Amen
